Aren't fathers the sweetest? ;)

p.s.: Bonjour (from Canada)! Love your blog, and makes me dream to live in Paris too!^_^

Eric

Came across this article today, thought of you. How's Chicago? We're getting dumped on with snow out here today.

Neil

Ugly Betty? Bleh. Don't tell me you went from your glamorous Parisian life to sitting in Chicago watching American TV shows?!

Joli Kiwi

She will be back, and with her the sun and the wind. She will take once again that bloody CDG bus, and this time, she will not go back to the Left Bank, but to the Right, and all the realm of the Bobos will Hail her return... And we'll try and go wasted on cheap (Yet Good) wine at Coeur Fou.

Lisa

Do we get to see new shoes at Christmas time this year? :) Law school finals = dreaming about living somewhere other than Gainesville.

"So, our delightful Coquette, since you wish to divulge to us ces potins de famille may I make some helpful observations?"

"Of course, j."

"In your formative years you were obsessed by two delusions which mutually exclude each other - that you were attractive and stylish and that you were an Ugly Betty. Both reinforced by your father who to you resembled a Russian aristocrat."

"So true."

"And the clash between these two ideas caused you intense mental anguish."

"Painfully so."

"And so you escaped into the infamy of the fashion blog."

"I cannot deny it."

"Still dispite your recent sans-gene we find you a perfect beauty - no, no, don't deny it. We know you are not that decent."

Coquette

V, thanks!

Eric, I haven't read her books, out of some principle...I can't remember why now. I think I was bitter that she could package French common sense to make millions.

Neil, I wanted the show to be good, but I couldn't get through 20 minutes. I only waste my time reading blogs. All the good American t.v. like GRay's Anatomy can be had in France now anyway.

Sened, It will be janvier so I don't know about sun and wind, but I like the sentiment. Yeah, I'm down for Crazy Heart.

Lisa! Hi! Study hard. (And no, my story is on hats this season.)

J, ha! I always thought my Dad looked like George Harrison.

Joli Kiwi

Chilly Sun and Freezing winds, that's January in Paris for you!

Jonathan

My grandfather had a wonderful line in tactless conversation very similar to that too.

I fondly remember a number of marines walking into the bar one night (we lived near a military base), and he said "ah... I was in the army when we needed 'em. Now we just bloody feed 'em".

They bought him a drink :)
