How to do Bohemian without looking like a schlub, you ask? (Or, let's face it, an American Study Abroad Girl?)
I point you toward this Meisterstuck of an ensemble. Dark and neutral colors go a long way. The chic bag makes it a home run. (Louis Vuitton? Who cares? It's the shape that's the thang.) Spotted on Boulevard Saint Germain, Paris 6e.

Are you STALKING PEOPLE with your cell phone camera again, Coquette?

I like to think of myself as a friendly fashion historian :)

It probably doesn't hurt to be as gorgeous as her either, right? ;)

Coquette, this is exactly what is needed-- fashion is created on the streets of Paris-- please please please--- make a point to snap photos and post here-- no privacy has been violated-- just fabulous style shared.

My uneducated fashionista eye wonders if she isn't wearing colours that are too dark for the weekend we just had?

I took this pic two weeks ago, Katia! Good call. And Bluepoppy, I'm happy you think it's kosher. She's so fabulous--how could I not share?

Coquette, very nice left bank Bobo specimen.
There is a difference between the right bank and left bank bobo, but i'm sure you noticed...
I like a particular detail : the very simple and green (ew) hairband as an obvious sign that "c'est le week end"...

Sigh. I could never carry off such an ensemble, primarily because I'd fear that I'd look too dowdy. On her, it looks great. On me - can we say paper sack? So we'll stick to a-line skirts in floral prints and tanktops (when it gets warm enough, sigh) and flipflops.

Forget the Louis Vuitton! I want that fur bag that I cannot help but imagine is bouncing on that other lady's bootay.
Did I just out myself as a fashion MORON?
We shall see. We trust in La Coquette!

I'm digging the pony tail on the right and the jeans on the left. One thing we agree on though...it is the shape that matters!

Coquette, you just have the best luck with your cameraphone.
I think the LV bag adds a lot to the shot - were it not for bag, the pic would not be classy enough for this blog.

I do love your street reporting! bluepoppy is so right - fashion definitely starts in the streets. If there's a question of privacy, do like (I think it's) Glamour magazine, and do the black bar over your subjects' eyes.
And as soon as I grow five inches, perhaps I can wear this ensemble too! ;)

Sorry Coquette, I didn't mean to "faire le morale" about your methods of documentation.
It's just that I AM the girl in the picture!

Great , I love that ! Definitly we have to do that together one day. For instance a great game : sit on a terrace and count the fake vuitton bags ! ;-)

Totally agree! I esp love your bag.
